The Great SCS Food Drive 2022

S.C. Swiderski hosted “The Great SCS Food Drive” in November to support different food pantries throughout the state of Wisconsin. S.C. Swiderski employees and tenants of our apartment homes were encouraged to donate food items or make monetary donations.

This year, a total of 2,097 items were collected throughout all our locations. S.C. Swiderski matched that number making it a total of 4,194 items to be donated to various food pantries throughout the state of Wisconsin. That is almost double what we were able to collect last year! Donations will be handed out by SCS team members across the state.

The Great SCS Food Drive was run by our CAS (Community Action Service) committee. This is a volunteer group made up of SCS employees volunteering their time to make these donations possible. Other events this year that our CAS committee participated in were Ghidorzi Green and Clean, Fill a Backpack Fill a Need, Run for the Fallen 5k, and Adopt a Classroom. On December 3rd our CAS committee will also have a float in the Mosinee Christmas Parade!

Thank you to all our employees and tenants for their donations this year! We are happy to be able to make these donations during the holiday season.

S.C. Swiderski Celebrates Grand Opening of SCS Oshkosh

S.C. Swiderski held our Grand Opening Ceremony for SCS Oshkosh on October 26th. SCS Oshkosh is our first multi-family project in the City of Oshkosh. Present at the ceremony was John Z. and Mark I. from the City of Oshkosh, Rob K. from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, Randy B. from Intercity State Bank along with numerous other Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, community members, and partners on the project.

During the ceremony, Julie Walker, Area Manager for S.C. Swiderski explained the project. “This new community has 2 completely different building styles. As a resident, you will have 8 uniquely designed floor plans and 1 or 2 story living options to choose from! These floor plans have 1-3 bedrooms all featuring private entrances, garage space, and private laundry. In addition to these great options, each apartment home includes a private deck or patio.”

Whether you are downsizing, have a growing family, or just seeking to find your first quality apartment, SCS Oshkosh will fit your needs. Rent bundles high-speed internet, cable tv, heat, water, sewer, and trash removal in just one bill. S.C. Swiderski is proud to bring this multi-generational community to Oshkosh.

To celebrate 30 years of being in the industry, S.C. Swiderski decided to donate $30,000 throughout the state of Wisconsin to local non-profit organizations throughout the entire year. Oshkosh Area Humane Society was selected by S.C. Swiderski employees to receive a $1,000 donation during the Grand Opening Ceremony as part of this celebration. Jessica Miller was present to accept the donation and explained how their organization is experiencing challenges with a high number of animals in their care. She explained how this donation will help cover the medical needs of these animals while they wait for their new homes.

S.C. Swiderski is excited to bring the SCS Difference to the Oshkosh community. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this project a success and we are excited to see the final buildings open over the next few months.

GUEST BLOG | HANNAH | RESIDENT AT SCS FOX POINT

Moving into SCS Fox Point has made my transition into apartment living an absolute dream. I love that with being a newly built building, it has such a modern and clean style. All my expectations were exceeded by S.C. Swiderski upon moving in. My apartment was clean and all the utilities, including cable and Wi-Fi are included in the rent price, which only left me with having to set up my services for electric. All appliances are included, a stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and a washer and dryer in the apartment. With those features all included, there was not much I had to worry about when planning to move. I have a one car garage that is large enough that I can park my vehicle inside of, set up shelves for storage, and store 2 kayaks. IT was important for me to have storage for my recreational activities, such as kayaking! Living in an apartment allows me to hit the water with my friends because I do not have to worry about lawn care at all. I was excited to be able to live on a property that feels like its own small community, which is exactly what SCS Fox Point is, even though it is in the middle of Merrill. It is located at the edge of town, so most of the views from my apartment feature trees and wildlife. While enjoying a quieter side of town, I can still easily access the highway and visit all the grocery stores, local coffee shops, schools, parks, and restaurants within minutes. SCS Fox Point is a pet-friendly site, so my dog, Darla, can live with me! She loves it here and enjoys getting treats from all the neighbors. S.C. Swiderski has been able to accommodate pet owners, like myself, by installing dog waste stations located throughout the property and having green space for me and my pet to enjoy. We are also only a 2-minute walk to Prairie Trails Park that has multiple different gravel walking paths alongside the river. I am busy with life, just like everyone else! So, living maintenance free has been great, SCS Fox Point has been a great place to call home!
