Overview

S.C. Swiderski (SCS) is transforming the housing industry by concentrating on providing solutions to housing needs. As a real estate development company, it professionally manages and maintains housing communities developed, designed, and constructed by the SCS team. The company is committed to investing in the next generation of workers by offering two youth programs for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the real estate development, design, construction, or property management industry. The programs are designed to provide students with real world experience in areas of marketing, development, design, and leasing through intern and apprentice positions.

Program Details

The youth programs are open to students who are enrolled in high school or college and have a passion for learning and working in the housing industry. The programs are offered during the summer and the academic year, and the duration varies depending on the position and the availability of the student. The programs are divided into two categories: internships and apprenticeships.

Internships are typically short-term positions with most hours worked over the summer months. Interns work on specific projects or tasks that are assigned by their supervisors and mentors. Students in the internship program typically earn school credit while participating in the program and SCS aligns the experience with the student’s program needs. As part of the program, interns present a report to the SCS executive team. Interns are paid hourly and are eligible for overtime.

Apprenticeships can be long-term positions that extend beyond the summer months into the school year. Apprentices work on a variety of projects and tasks that are related to their chosen field of interest and career goals. Apprentices receive a competitive wage and a letter of recommendation at the end of the program.
