Growth

Toms Image.jpg

What is the definition of the word growth? According to Merriam-Webster, growth can be described as "the process of increasing in physical size; forming; expanding; progressively developing."  S.C. Swiderski is currently in full growth mode, company-wide!

Growth by the numbers: S.C. Swiderski had six apartment locations under construction in 2020. This year alone, we're purchasing nine additional properties for planned future development and our Construction Department has eight new projects breaking ground in 2021. We have over a half a billion dollars in construction projects in development. Our goal is to continue to significantly increase the number of apartment units constructed every single year, making each year better than the last.  How does a company of our size plan for this exponential growth? By adding to our team!

The Construction Department is currently hiring for the following positions:

Construction Coordinator: https://www.scswiderski.com/construction-coordinator

Project Coordinator: https://www.scswiderski.com/projectcoordinator

Material Specialist: https://www.scswiderski.com/material-specialist

Construction Superintendent: https://www.scswiderski.com/construction-superintendent

Tom Woller, Construction Manager for S.C. Swiderski, has this to say about the company's direction and the future of construction, “It is exciting to be part of the expansion of S.C. Swiderski Construction. Not only are we building great projects, but we are also building a great team. The company offers tremendous opportunities for motivated people.”

Alex - Marketing Intern

It’s really hard to believe that my summer internship with S.C. Swiderski has come to an end. I never thought 3 months could fly by as quick as they did. However, I could not have asked for a better first experience in the marketing industry throughout this internship.

As a marketing intern, every day was different than the next - which is probably the thing I loved most about the internship. Every task that was allotted to me had meaning and would truly be beneficial to the company, whether that be various tasks behind a desk or projects outside of the office. While in the office, some of my duties included projects like website updates, managing social media platforms, researching different markets, or creating different marketing collateral. While out of the office I had the opportunity to travel to various company sites, attend company events, as well as being able to give back to the community at volunteer activities. These tasks really gave me an overall better understanding of every aspect of the marketing industry.

The thing that I loved most about S.C. Swiderski was the team atmosphere throughout the whole company. Everyone who I spoke with was always so eager to help and was always there if I had any questions. I’m going to miss being a part of such a great team who is always pushing and rooting for you to succeed.

I really have grown so much both personally and professionally through this internship and I owe that all to my co-workers. They made every day truly a joy to come in and I can’t thank everyone, but especially the marketing department enough. I wish everyone at S.C. Swiderski nothing but the best and I am excited to see all of the success that will continue to happen in the company’s future!

Lauren - Real Estate Marketing Intern

As I sit to write this I reflect on my first day of the job,

From the very first day at S.C. Swiderski everyone welcomed me as a member of the team and expected me to make a genuine contribution. I hit the ground running right off the bat with a long list of Trello tasks and activities. This was not just an internship that you filled coffees and did everyone’s grunt work. My opinions were heard and mattered here. I was constantly astonished by the wide variety of marketing tasks they allowed us to do.

The experience helped me better understand the incredible reach that just one branch can have on a company. I grew my creative skills by having the opportunity to form graphics, video content, flyers, and social media posts. My adventures didn’t solely lye behind the computer screen and a desk, I was able to visit several of our property locations, new land, attend meetings, and observe building sites. One of my favorite opportunities I got to do was arrange a food truck to come out to our location for employees, locals, and near-by businesses to enjoy. I was given the responsibility and trust of doing all of the event planning for this. It was great to support our local community while also bringing something exciting to the workplace.

But the work- meaningful as it was- was only a small part of what made me come to enjoy this internship. Everyone that I met helped me grow both professionally and as a person. I was able to share laughs and stories with coworkers, given a chance to meet people in other departments, and even engage in conversation with the owner of the company. Having a boss and supervisor that see faith in your work abilities, but also cares about you as a person speaks for the company as a whole.

Thank you to everyone for making this internship a possibility, it made my summer fly by. I would highly recommend this internship to any other students looking to expand their knowledge and have hands-on work in the marketing field.
