Lauren - Real Estate Marketing Intern

As I sit to write this I reflect on my first day of the job,

From the very first day at S.C. Swiderski everyone welcomed me as a member of the team and expected me to make a genuine contribution. I hit the ground running right off the bat with a long list of Trello tasks and activities. This was not just an internship that you filled coffees and did everyone’s grunt work. My opinions were heard and mattered here. I was constantly astonished by the wide variety of marketing tasks they allowed us to do.

The experience helped me better understand the incredible reach that just one branch can have on a company. I grew my creative skills by having the opportunity to form graphics, video content, flyers, and social media posts. My adventures didn’t solely lye behind the computer screen and a desk, I was able to visit several of our property locations, new land, attend meetings, and observe building sites. One of my favorite opportunities I got to do was arrange a food truck to come out to our location for employees, locals, and near-by businesses to enjoy. I was given the responsibility and trust of doing all of the event planning for this. It was great to support our local community while also bringing something exciting to the workplace.

But the work- meaningful as it was- was only a small part of what made me come to enjoy this internship. Everyone that I met helped me grow both professionally and as a person. I was able to share laughs and stories with coworkers, given a chance to meet people in other departments, and even engage in conversation with the owner of the company. Having a boss and supervisor that see faith in your work abilities, but also cares about you as a person speaks for the company as a whole.

Thank you to everyone for making this internship a possibility, it made my summer fly by. I would highly recommend this internship to any other students looking to expand their knowledge and have hands-on work in the marketing field.
