S.C. Swiderski hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for our SCS Sunset Estates apartment homes on September 22th. We were joined by special guests Mayor David Ward, City Administrator Josh Vanlieshout, Cameryn Ehlers-Kwaterski from Destination Sturgeon Bay, John Kramper from One Community Bank, School Board President Mike Stephani, Paul Phillips from JSD Professional Services, as well as other community members and partners on the project.

On the site, there will be 4 multi-family buildings total using 2 different building styles. Each apartment home comes with an attached garage, private laundry, and either a patio or balcony. SCS Sunset Estates includes heat, water, sewer, cable, Wi-Fi, trash, lawn care, and snow removal in the rent rates. Cats and dogs under 50 pounds are welcome! SCS Sunset Estates is in a convenient location and easily accessible to the community. There will also be an on-site management who is ready to respond quickly to the needs of the residents.

Kortni Wolf, Business Development Manager for S.C. Swiderski says, “We are delighted to again work with the city of Sturgeon Bay! They’ve demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing the housing shortage in their community by finding suitable land and creating a straightforward development process, making projects like SCS Sunset Estates possible. We look forward to the grand opening next year and are excited for future development opportunities in Sturgeon Bay.”

During the ceremony, a $1,000 donation was made to the nonprofit organization, Operation Not Alone in celebration of the S.C. Swiderski’s 30th anniversary. In total, $30,000 will be donated this year to non-profits across S.C. Swiderski’s apartment locations. Operation Not Alone was chosen by S.C. Swiderski employees to receive the donation for their Sturgeon Bay location. Susan Fochs, founder and CEO of Operation Not Alone was present to accept the donation. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy some snacks and drinks provided by S.C. Swiderski.

They will provide a variety of maintenance-free housing options at a wide range of price points adding much needed housing in the area. S.C. Swiderski will work with local subcontractors, tradespeople, and laborers on this project as well as utilizing local suppliers and lenders whenever possible. S.C. Swiderski promises to be an active member of the Sturgeon Bay community for the long-term by adding property management jobs on-site and contributing to local charitable organizations through their CAS Committee.
